The first link advised writers to use AP Style. I've never heard of this before but was fascinated by the Q&A section on their Web site. Is this used only in the US? Is there a British equivalent?

I just sent them a piece.  Hopefully it goes better than my 'we wont even say 'no', we'll just ignore you' encounter at oncechapteronly.com.
