mine is still set to www.cam.ac.uk - I used to work there, and I still like to keep in touch by having it as my home page.

What is the benefit of having a selected 'homepage' - and my apologies if that is a stupid question.

I have mine set to Google and it's nice that I can customize it with goodies I like: moon phases, horoscope, headline news and other stuff. I use it daily.

Setting your browser to a "homepage" that you use a lot makes it easier to get things going. For me, I am constantly using the internet for research for my book. I love Google (used to be Dogpile) and making it my homepage just eliminates an extra step for me in that I don't have to load it up manually. It is just *there* when I open my browser. Hope that helps, Bru. :)

Paramour, many thanks. Yes, that helps a lot.  I use Google all the time for research re work. Maybe I should do that too.  I'm with AOL who are pretty restrictive.  Any other AOL-ers have a selected homepage other than AOL?
Thanks again, P.

I have my homepage set to Webshots, because I like to download five pictures a day from them for my screensaver/wallpaper.

I accidentally discovered a useful tool in Explorer 7.  There are about 9 sites I like to visit daily, but seldom remembered them all- writing sites, Chronic fatigue sites and blogs.

Now I have all of these listed in my favorites list in a folder called bootup.  At first I just opened each one individually in its own tab.  Then one day I wasn't feeling well, and I forgot to open the bootup folder, and just clicked on the arrow next to it.  To my surprised delight, Explorer automatically opened a tab for each entry.

So now I open explorer and download my pictures.  Then I click the arrow by bootup.  As I finish with each window, I close it, and haven't forgotten to check a page since.

Mine is not set to anything useful as of this year(I say this because useful or no, it is unlikely to change any time soon). It used to be set to www.deviantart.com but right now it is set to - and this is not a typo - Hookerman Wincesters, which is... a roleplaying forum. It's best not to ask, really. Though it is probably not as bad as it sounds.
