Just got word that my flash fiction story By Any Means Necessary will be published in the next issue of The South African Literary Journal.
Hopefully it has nothing to do with the fact that I am one of the submissions editors.   :-\

Thanks, Skip and Sio. I have to add, they only gave me the job after they read the story. Not sure why it took them
so long to send me an acceptance email.  :)

They probably thought they'd already done it ;-)  Once something slips away from the first page or two of emails it's easy to think you've dealt with it.  Or sometimes you deal with a batch of mails and intend to send them later, especially if you have a slow or 'flaky' connection.  With that scenario it's quite easy to lose one or two.

Lucky for me it all came through, then.  :D This is also a print and electronic magazine for those who want to submit. New Contrast publishes international writers as well.

Just when I thought the year was coming to an end, I got a great acceptance today from Short-Story.Me. Yay.

According to Duotrope they only have a 5 to 6% acceptance ratio. I've been trying to get a story published with
them since 2009. Like walking on air over here.  ;D

Thanks, Alice and Sio. This specific publisher has given me quite a lot of inspiration. I just had to get in eventually.
When I read those words I almost bumped my head against the ceiling. He opened with, "Congratulations on writing
an excellent story.". I almost fainted.

I don't think these kind of acceptances can ever become less exciting. Hope not.

Wow! That'll keep you on a high for a while and will give you the belief to continue -- so good when someone else [real live editor-y types, especially] gives you credit. ;) ;) ;)
