Thanks, Chrissie, Alice, Maimi and Annmarie. Still pushing for that big one, though.  ;)

Congratulations, Annmarie. That's brilliant. If it doesn't take too much time away from your writing, I'd say go for it.

Thanks, Joe, and yes, it will take time from my fiction. I'm a sucker for getting paid, though, so I may let myself be seduced for enough s.  :) This is my day job again starting in September, I just didn't expect such good freelance projects to pop up without me having to troll for them. My website is so outdated, I want to hide my head in the sand when I look at it. But it seems to still do the job. I'll be redoing it as soon as the summer holiday is over and the kids are situated. That is, if I have the time between freelance projects and fiction.  :)

Annmarie, that's really great news and from little acorns and all that! Good luck!

A nice opening, Annemarie.  Grab it while it's there ;-)

You never know, maybe your 'outdated' website suggests someone who is a writer rather than a website 'faffer', and therefore makes you seem more appealing to some publishers.

Thanks, Gyppo. I'm not interested in making my site too slick. It presents me and my work, and that's it. I can't figure out how people can maintain all these complicated blogs and sites and still get any *real* writing done. I imagine they live on 2 hours sleep a night, or have no family, friends or offline interests.  :)

Jut had my flash fiction piece NUMBERS UP accepted by The Brooklyner for publication on their website when it's relaunched next week.

Thanks! The one that I was really hoping for, however, was from an agent for my latest novel. But it was a rejection. Boo. Only the first for that novel, so still got a few more tries yet!

Congrats on the story, Matt!

Rejections stink, but you're out there. Keep trying.  :)
