I've just found out that MTV have optioned one of my songs for their programming... Each year, they choose a certain number of tracks and then their programme-makers choose soundtrack music from that pool. So, my track Man Behind The Smile could turn up in anything from The Hills to Pimp My Ride!!

You can hear it here: http://www.myspace.com/mirandadickinson

Yay!  :D

Hi Miranda

I really liked the next tune in the list -- A Million Miles -- but I can't find it on I tunes. How do I get it?

Oh and congrats on the MTV thang.

Mark

Hey Mark

;D Congratulations on your successes everyone! Surprisingly, I just got mine today  :)

I got a funny story:

Well, actually, it's a bit of a shame, really, but here it goes ;D

Last year I sent a short story to a local newspaper who lets readers write out stories within 500 words. My college sells that newspaper, and I had to try it out for myself. Now it might not be a big sort of success, but I consider it to be my first success when it came to writing  :) After a week without them responding back, I shrugged my shoulders and went off, thinking that they dismissed it.

Almost a year later, I find out (just today) that they actually put it in the newspaper after all :D And my mom probably threw the copy away without knowing about it having the first story that I ever sent off. Bah :D :D

Most newspapers keep an archive of old editions... maybe you could ask them to see it ;D

 :D :D That's why you're the mad scientist, Andrew.

I still don't have time to go out, though (the sunlight! it burns! *hisss*), but I'll certainly check it out once I'm free of mine job obligations  :)

I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

I had some exciting news & I had to share. I found out Saturday that my book, Lady Gabriella has finally been released. FINALLY!!!!!

It hit Amazon on Saturday & Barnes & Noble online yesterday. I am looking forward to the signings, but at the same time extremely nervous.

Here's the link to Amazon  http://www.amazon.com/Lady-Gabriella-Donnette-Smith/dp/0979988411/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219497713&sr=1-17

& the link to Barnes & Noble  http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?WRD=lady+gabriella

Barnes & Noble doesn't have a description yet, but they should within a few more days. Today the image of my book was uploaded on Amazon. Yesterday the description was posted. It's strange how all the information isn't available all at once when it first gets posted. Hopefully within a few more days it will be up on Borders too.

Thanks, Andrewf.

Well, my very first book signing is set up for October, 25th. It will be at the Barnes & Noble store inside the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco Texas.

God, I'm already nervous, & August is not even over yet. Hope I don't stutter too badly during the signing.

Well done Donette, I am sure you will be a huge success, since I know how committed you are to this, and you have a good publisher behind you to help.

I have not done much book stuff at all lately, what with various problems at work and so on. When I got home tonight though, I found an email from a radio station in Liverpool asking me if I would like to be guest on the paranormal show. I emailed them back for more information, and it he is going to get back to me with hopefully a list of questions. The show airs on week days between 2 and 6am, but the interview will be taped in advance - thank goodness as I never have been good at staying up late !

Tailsman, that sounds like a great opportunity. Radio time is usually very  good for an author. Good luck.
