Well, don't actually know if it's going to be a succes yet (but I sure hope so!)...

I published my first work on Lulu. :)
It's not a book... it's a calendar:

The SimTales Sexy Guys Calendar 2008

And it features some of the hottest guys from my stories, in naughty poses ;D

http://www.lulu.com/content/1746809

A preview of all pictures is available on my Writer's Blog:
http://leahswritersblog.blogspot.com/2007/12/simtales-sexy-guys-calendar-2008.html

And no, I won't be earning any money from it - I decided to sell at cost price to make the calendar affordable to Bad Girls with small purses too. ;)

Well done Nelodra - looks amazing!

My own small claim to success at last - my audio book has been published. I got 30 copies delivered just before Xmas. A very small independent publisher helped me record and produce, now all I have to do is market the thing. I'll get round to it... I will I will....

Congratulations, Carrie, on your audio book! Kudos!

And a trip to Arizona, too. Woowhoo! You're on a roll, girl.

Hope the weather treats you well, and I hope that you get to see all that you're looking forward to seeing.

Congrats, Carrie!
What kind of audio book is it? What genre?
And how can I get a copy of it?

And thanks for having a look at my calendar and leaving such a nice comment.
It wasn't really such an awful lot of work - not compared to the other things I do, like writing my stories, taking all the pictures and producing the videos to go with them. That usually takes me about a month for each chapter! :o
The pictures for the calendar took me just one night, and you won't believe how much fun I had taking them.
On second thought - you probably would believe how much fun I had. ;)

It's an hour of short ghost stories - all written and spoken by yours truly.

I do have a marketing plan in mind, but I need expert help (my mate Shani is on call, thank goodness).

If you want a copy, for the awful price of £10, just email me and let me know.

;D

Ghost stories? :o
Written and spoken by YOU? Now that must be really scary! :o
And £10 is just way too much ;)
... expect my email soon. ;D

Yup, congratulations, Carrie - the audio book looks fab. I say LOOKS because my mum spotted it the day it arrived and the sly thing has stolen it. >:(

Just catching up...feels so good. Years from now we can all say, we knew each other through the thick and the thin of this business.

Michelle, congrats on the edit sheets...makes it easier to have then rather than to wait for them, eh? Finished with them yet?

Bravestone, congrats on the book. I've bought books from Lulu. It's cool. POD is not the easy way out. It is an alternative way. I know some well known UK and US authors who use Lulu and iUniverse.

June, as always, congratulations. I'm proud to know you.

Jen, I'm totally not surprised they bought that ms. If I had any money and was a publisher, I'd buy it!

DWin, Hey cool. Good luck with the rest of the classes.

Anthony, yes, you should listen to Gyppo, except when you shouldn't. Congrats on the book!

Leah, you're awesome. Great idea to do a calendar. I've bought Lulu calendars before. Good quality stuff.

Carrie, I love hearing you read your short stories. This is fantastic news. Bring some with you, if you take USD. Heh heh, you know I'm a fan, darlin'. (Use an American accent when you read that!)

Cathy, best not let your mum know about your ms or she'll swipe your laptop to read your story.

If I've missed anyone, congrats to you too! Keep at it!

I'm counting this as a success because it's been bugging me. I've finally figured out what I'm going to say when people ask me what genre my next book is.
Regrettably I still don't know what the last one was.

Ha, I still struggle with that one too Ollie ! It depends actually on who though I am talking to - if if's someone I know well I tell them the truth, if it's a book shop I tell them a load of waffle !

Of course you can, I said that when I started writing my book and look where I am now - if I can do it then so can anyone ! The real work comes afterwards anyway, once it is published - writing it is the easy bit !
