Interviews count - it is all publicity!  I hope to be able to contribute personally to this board soon.  Waiting... waiting... waiting...  :-\

June, I love hearing your accent and how you started writing Genesis of Man. I remember when you left that job you mentioned. Seems like only yesterday.  PM me about your holiday. It went well, I'm sure.

Carrie, when will we have news on your audio book? I've forgotten the title again. What is it called? I'm getting a copy (signed of course) so I can hear your accent reading your stories. Ta-da!

(Just for the record, I don't have an accent!)

Everyone has an accent - although I am yet to hear yours. Some people say that I sound Australian, even though I have never been to Australia in my life - 24 hours on a plane is just a bit too daunting for me though.

Hi everyone,

first congratulations to all you published authors. It is inspiring to read some of your posts like Nadine, June, Suzie.
Lysianssa - you are on chapter 14... 1/2 way, CONGRATULATIONS too! Thats way ahead of most people who will " someday" write that book.

As far as success is concerned in my mind I am already a (proud ma) & successful published author even though my books are really on the way to the delivary room (publishing) ;) Ok guys, maybe you cant identify with being pregnant. Me neither - but my books are like kids to me...

*Actually finishing one of the two books I began in January this year. *Writing 3 books is one of the goals I set for this year. (Im on my way up)
*Constantly working on my authors plateform (with a list)- using a monthly Happy,Healthy,WealthynWise Lifestyle Tips newsletter (so far about 300 subscribers since Sept 2006).
*Working on a blogg to go with the books - which are being translated into german...
*Finally, does keeping on writing and being part of this forum count as a success??? ;)

All the best to you all. Keep writing, the world is waiting for your book(s)
Zoe

June, just kidding about the accent. I have a friend in Ireland who would say that I do have one.

Zoe, Thanks.

I know people are off to the London Book Fair and others are getting ready for BookExpo in NY. I'm headed for the Los Angeles Times/UCLA (university) book fair at the end of the month.

What else has everyone been up to lately?

Ive joined the Writers Bureau as a student.   Ive written a magazine article which hasn't exactly been rejected!

The representative wrote that she has taken time to read the exerpt and is now passing it on to the team and will get back to me - not sure what that means but it certainly isnt a straight rejection thank goodness and it was decent of them to reply so quickly.  The other magazine to which I sent a proposal, I haven't heard from at all so it sounds positive.

As for the article itself I think my tutor at the writers bureau would be interested as well in helping me with some feedback.

I also have been asked by an agent if I would pass the article to her to distribute to her BBC TV wildlife presenters, perhaps a TV programme may come out of it.  Who knows   Ill keep you posted on that one.  You just got to keep writing!!

I can't say I'm published or even anywhere near it.

I'm jumping for joy today because a publisher has asked to read a magazine article I wrote. No money, but who cares. At least it's a step in the published direction. It would look great when I finally send out a query on my novel.

We must hold on to every little hope we get for becoming a published author.

Congrats to those who have acheived that goal.

I had an email this morning from a radio talk show host, Phil Harris, who saw my interview on Youtube and he has booked me in for June 11th as his special guest ! Apparently his show is one of the top ten rated shows with Arbitron (Radio Ratings and Media Research Information Service). I have yet to get full details, since it has only just been confirmed, but the show airs at 7.30 pm eastern standard time, which is 5 hours behind us. I have done community radio before, many years ago, but this is something else together. I am really excited!

Hi Guys,

Congratulations to you all ;D

I've had two minor successes: I've had a poem printed in the local evening paper and also a short story and two poems printed in an anthology produced by the writing group that I attend.

Smiley x  :)

(I also got 80 percent in the last assignment that I produced for the Open University Creative Writing course so I'll count that as a further success ;))

Sellit, that's great. We'll keep our fingers crossed that he publishes your work.

Smiley, that's good news. My great grandfather's poems were in a newspaper so often that they made him a regular item. Keep it up, maybe you'll get a regular slot too.

Russ, that just means you are one step closer.

June, That's great about Phil. Do you remember him from the old forum? This should be a good interview since he has done research in the same areas as you. He's a member of MWC, but has been so busy that we rarely see him these days. BTW, did you see you were the featured author on nothingbinding.com on Sunday?

Congrats to everyone.

Didn't see that unfortunately, as I was out all day doing another book fair. Will have to check amazon though (and my own web stats) to see if it resulted in any more sales ! I didn't realise though that Phil was a member on here. Interview should be good, as he writes similar stuff to me, so will obviously know and understand the content. He likes to have a good look at the writers site as well in advance, which always helps !
