Yep, I am sure there is a formula that can define a dumb persons durability level. Something like: years lived + dumb scala rating =  ? Could even be more complex though not sure it would need to be.

Needless to say I've never done anything really dumb, but I had a secretary once who watched me replace a bottle of water in our water cooler. Once inverted, and after a few seconds of glugging, the water found it's new level in the bottle. She exclaimed: "Bloody rip off! Somehow they make it look full when it's the right way up, but when it's on the cooler you can see it isn't!"

Guess the colour of her hair and size of her thrupenny bits.

One of the dumbest things I ever heard was at a bikers party.
There were two blokes in the club, both called Dave. One of the Daves was married to a girl called Julie. Anyway Dave and Julie were chatting, and drinking away, when someone came in and said that Dave had crashed his bike.
Julie grabbed Dave and shouted, " Oh no, not my Dave," and feinted.
She woke up in her husbands arms (yes Daves) with a very silly grin on her face.

Oh yeah, Dave2 was fine as well.

My mum's a classic for being dumb. One day she got in my dad's car looked at the clock "Is that all the time is?"

"No," said dad "I have just not changed the time since the clocks went Forward."

"Great now when they go back it will be two hours slow."

"Or I could just leave it as it is." He said with a great level of patients.

Today I was listening to a tape [Buddy Holly if anyone is interested] and I turned it around to listen to the next side. I continued posting until I thought, "didn't I just put some music on." I looked, it was playing, no sound coming out. So I thought something was wrong, stopped it and had look, fine. Put it back in, still nothing. So I looked again, no problem. Turned it on again, nothing. So I was going crazy, what's going on, I'm just staring at this CD player.
Can you guess what was wrong?

You started by saying "listening to a tape"  and ended with "staring at this CD player"

So...  I'd guess you just turned your CD wrong side over...

Simpler, that's such a glaring mistake, I'd've caught it straight away.
This one is subtle.

Erm...  you put the tape in the machine then pressed "play" on the CD player ?

You had the tape running but the three position selector set to CD.  I can do that with my machine.  Or you'd pressed the key for record.
