Not sure what time it will be out nadine, but hopefully in time for the book signing in Foyles that Paul is trying to put together. It was to be at the end of April, but will now be some time in May, since Paul is ebroiled in a big court case at the moment (nothing that he has done you understand, but helping those affected by one of the less scrupulous POD companie out there). I am off to Lundy again in a weeks time, and back at the beginning of April, so once that is out the way, then it will be full steam ahead.....

Certianly hope so ! The daffodils have been flowering for a while now. Birds are beginning to nest as well and the lambing season will soon be in full swing. It will be quite blustery and the sailing might be a bit hairy (have stocked on sea sickness tabs just in case) - but that's exactly how I like it - wind and windy makes for more exhilerating walks - provided you stay away from the cliff edges of course !

Hi there, newbie here! I sent a message through your web site. I agree with most of the other comments, with additional thoughts on the male/female images. I think it's great how everyone supports without pulling any punches! (so to speak).
Feel free to share what I sent - if you like. I just didn't think to come back here to offer my comments.
cheers,

Got your message and thank you for that. Will post it here:

Hi there, found your request for suggestions on the writer's circle chat line.
I am by no means a cover design expert - - but I did teach art for 7 years. It all speaks to colour, line, perception etc.
The orange is the way to go  - - - for sure!!!
Beyond that, have you tried dropping the "man"?
Just go with Genius. Shorter titles sell better. And the subtitle says it all anyway. For that reason (the implied and real info in the subtitle) I would consider dropping the man and woman off the cover. Just use the snakes as they come up into a perfect symbol for the universe - genius -etc. etc. I think when thinking about genius - - and the universe - it's a given that "man" will be in the forefront.
I do hope you find this of some help.
But stick with the orange and keep the gold/yellow. Awsome!

By Genius I take you mean Genesis, as that is the book title, Genesis of Man. Not sure about this to be honest though, as there are so many books out there with similar titles - Genesis Unveiled, Genesis Revisited, The Genesis Race etc that I want to add something else to my title, although I do take your point as well. The toruble is the book has already been out there for 6 months, so I am not sure if I can rename it anyway. Interesting thought though and thanks for the feedback. Off to Lundy on Friday and back March 31st, so after that will get stuck in.

Sorry Talisman! Not sure if I should own up to being an illiterate (in a writer's chat room) or just admit to (often) being an idiot!
Either way, sorry for any ??? this may have caused. I didn't realize (as a newbie or an idiot) that your book had already been out there for a few months. Without knowing the gist of the book (and now having the title correct will help enormously with that) I'm still thinking the cover would be less cluttered without the human figures. The other symbolism is (I feel) strong enough on its own especially with the colour.
I am surprised by my thoughts on this, as usually I am not a "less is more" kind of person.
At any rate, you are welcome for the feedback and thank you for your graciousness over the ill-conceived concept of your title.
cheers

Not to worry, we all have our ltitle moments. Maybe you are right about the figures though, as so many have said they should be more realistic, that maybe it would just be easier not to have them at all .... Will talk to Paul (again) and see what his thoughts are ....

     Aloha,
On the cover, colors as Donald trump would say stick out and say buy me. However the figures are poorly rendered. I would have to say it would

have more impact if you stuck to the serpents and the helix and the cross. much more punch. and maybe as a "poster" said before snake scales morphing into

a helix. Just my two cents Happy ya got out there with a book, and I can't wait till this is a problem for me.

Time for a little update then - I have appointed a brilliant up and coming designer to do the new cover for me who is working on three designs as I write. I should with any luck have them by the middle of this week, so once I do will post them on my site as before for more feedback. I passed most of the comments on to him though, so he will take this into account when doing the designs.

Since I am changing the cover, it makes sense at the same time to make a few changes to the internal layout at the same time (isn't POD great that you can do this so easily). I will then at the same time be increasing the font size to make it more readable, and have been busy these past few days adding further information to the text as well, as in places, particularly at the beginning of the book, where I talk about DNA studies to track the ancestry and origins of mankind, more was needed. New techniques are being developed all the time which add to our understanding of this subject and there have recently been some very interesting breakthroughs.

So, this leaves me with surplus stock of the original first editions. I don't want to give the impression of advertising, and have checked with the mods first before posting this, but since there do seem to be a few of you on here who are interested in my subjects, thought I may as well post it on here, so here goes.

In order to sell them off quickly, I have decided to have a book sale! This means that all remaining first editions, when ordered through me, are now reduced by one third, from 14.99 to 9.99. This price does not of course include postage, but is I think a real bargain. I will of course also be more than happy to sign them. You never know, once I am rich and famous (just rich would do!) then these may turn out to be collectors items !

If you are interested then, just PM, otherwise, all the details can be found on the ordering page of my website.

Oh you will be though Paramour, I am not a religious person, but remember what the Bible says 'all these things and more you too will do' and just focus on that. It has taken me a long time to get here to where I am, and I intend to enjoy every single minute !

I finally have the three cover images as promised, and to say that I am pleased with them, is an understatement. The quality of the work is truly outstanding, and I definately made the right choice of designer. I have added them to my site as promised, as PDF's, for you all to see.

I have my own thouhts as to which one is right, but will not say until I have some a few comments from others. Always the woman of mystery .....

Have a look though and see what you think

Oh my GOSH!!! They are beautiful! It is hard to decide - now that I have read your book, they all apply quite aptly. I think I like #2 the best. #3 is beautiful too, tho! But if you want to go with the orange, then #2 would be my pick. The thing that makes #3 attractive is the way it is set up. I love the words floating around in the back ground on all 3 designs. Bottom line: they are all very nice! Whatever you decide, it will be perfect! :)
