Imma Sit Out
« on: June 17, 2021, 02:39:24 AM »
Come on, get up,
Get Up!
Why wonít you get up?
I prayed that you would last.
That it wouldnít be over so fast.
But you just wonít get up,
Is it too much to ask?
Canít be over if it never starts
Careful with what you place in your heart
Cause thereís one space that's accent
So one will stay and one will depart
Peek back
I reminisce on the past practice
I miss when you would stand at atTenTion
On command like a loyal friend
You would only soften when the trial end
But that was then, this is now
Stand up for another round, get up out your bow
I wanna show you off, someone else gonna blow you off
But you wonít get up, was I too rough, when I rolled you up
Shaking weight of expectations
Too much for the truck; suspense was too much.
The suspension was breaking, so you stayed grounded
Self-suspended on the day I needed my clutch, Iím confounded
You quit before the big game. What the flux?
Is it because I beat you down, one too many pounds, ehh?
I used to like playing with you, you was hard and tough
But you soft now, cause you didnít show up
Are you tired? Trepidation over what we were facing?
Did the situation make your blood not rush?
What snuff out your fire?
The pressure was supposed to make you rise higher, not crush you
They say it was to open your eyes if you just do
Like the fruit?
Dragons not snakes are cool
Truueee
...
Thatís what our friends say, do you trust dude?
Jesus Judas
Caesar Brutus
Those two?
Of that I canít respond
Message I just past along
Second hand experience
Is where I get my knowledge from
They say you canít forget
When the song is sung
Come, they told me pa-rum pum pum pum
The Pie is in the sky
 The Cake is a lie
Cliff jump after them
Die or Fly
Foolish? Wise?
Really? Thatís what you hit me with?
Better than what you was tryna make me hit
With a stick. A sticky situation, Iíd rather switch.
A little bit of patience, I insist, donít dismiss,
Just keep an eye
For something that will persist, not a quick fix
Look for one to commit, not one to quit
Aye, Okay
I submit, scoot over
Let me sit
I admit that it makes sense
But that means ignoring the fire no matter how intense it gets
Just throw the words back to me
Lets see if they hold up actually
Donít you wanna enjoy it?
Donít you wanna be happy?

Rip it to shreds. I can take the criticism
What do you think in general?

wow! Just WOW...   Is this new age poetry? It's in so many parts it would take a genius  to figure out which come first the beginning or the end.  That's my take on your writing....of course  I'm just a heart writer.... Maybe another member can explain better the pro and cons of your poem.    jt
Interesting the way the internet really works.   jt jt
