Yes readers having the guts to spam indeed usually aren't desirable, although on the other end of the spectrum, I don't like you to be to - SHY - to Comment or Reply either!
So even if you have a somewhat unconventional or maybe even questionable Comment or Reply on a blogpost, even if it's for example somewhat spam-my or selfpromoting with a link to your site, I usually don't really mind that much about it. Because even than it usually is still possible to use it as a 'writing prompt' for writing an interesting
Reply or start making it into a possible interesting conversation, that might
also attract other readers to write their Comments & Replies also. Making it into potentially interesting online conversations that add extra value, a new angle
to the blog post. Or it might even Inspire me to write interesting new blog posts!
You also don't have to be a flawless university professor or something like that
to write your reply, to me it's more about looking at a diversity of ideas and angles, and connecting with you as an other bloggers/writers, for getting your feedback, your angle, and to test ideas etc.
