Alone

Who would I be if not for where I've been
I would be the innocence of my youth
Untarnished by time travels
I would be the whole of me
unmarred , filled with love, hope
and peace.
Yet, to need understanding,
for in my innocence
I was a part of everything.   jt

Being disconnected from the outside
world gives one a clearer picture
of life...
With nothing to distract from a far
the web of life unfolds from the essence
of who we are.
No stranger to distract from
the view ones eyes gazes on
No pretending -just
the nakedness of being alone.

Thank you for the rawness and truth of this poem—it reminds me very much of Philip Larkin's Aubade. We spend our entire life, tranced by the pareidolia of the "other"; yet, we are always alone, absolutely alone. This is universal. I felt this very poignantly, and I hope you find some comfort knowing we are all "there". Great poem.

Thank you, my friend. Many choose to be alone...for it is in the reality of self,  one can see clearer what is real and what is not....We are all one in spirit....so. one is never really alone.
