Rhyme and reason
explain rain to the sunny vowels
of laughter, they color the day with gray- ochre
-phrases and misleading shadows.

They're crazy about yellow,
  (the goddess gives permission)
distant, youth lingers and sways in golden light—
gray mars definition, memories edge along
confusion, the time and season. . .

Weren't the empty pots black enough—

and the stained glass in holy, purple
pieces scattered at the easement;

ain’t it a shame how they did that kid,
his blood soaked, red cotton thread;

can you believe it all came down
in a blue wave over a coral seaside-town;

when all I wanted was to see your winter mood smile?
