If it sounds too... (New Writers)
« on: September 10, 2019, 08:27:24 AM »
If your offer sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't.

When you hear about competitions and offers to publish your book, the first thing to do is to seek out the offer on line. You will often find scams and also many reviews to help you. There are lots of scams in the world of publishing and you need to be vigilant about each one.

You don't need to pay anyone to be published, but if you want a good editor, do what I do, ask around within your local writer's group.  Even here on mywriterscircle.com you have to be careful. Not every offer is genuine.  Our Moderators cannot possibly vet each one.  We have to give them all a fair chance. There are publishers out there who help you with publishing and will put your book on Amazon for you if you are a bit of a technophobe. Of course, they want paying, but some are fantastic and others not so.  Best to ask around.

I wrote this post so that members within our circle can provide the benefit of their publishing experiences and offer positive advice. If you wish to contribute, then please do.
