Plastic Surgery Fiction
« on: November 19, 2018, 09:49:29 PM »
Hi, Iím looking for recommendations for published works (novels, short stories, non- fiction), that feature plastic surgery as a theme or characters who are cosmetically enhanced. I would be more interested in works that relate to female beauty and female characters and any works that feature Brest augmentation (despite its popularity i have yet to come across a mention of it in a book or read about a character who has undergone the procedure). I am working on a story that features plastic surgery so am looking for some reading material to inspire me and for research purposes.

Thank you for reading my post.

The Naked Truth About Breast Implants: From Harm to Healing Paperback  Ė September 18, 2009

by Dr. Susan E. Kolb (Author)

Susan Kolb a medical doctor who is uniquely qualified to tell this story because she has a specialty in plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as extensive training in holistic medicine. Furthermore, both silicone and saline breast implants have been in her body, and she confronted the health challenges such prosthetic devices can produce. While her story is very personal, it also reflects the experience of hundreds of thousands of other women. The story she tells involves multinational corporations, public health concerns and governmental organizations that have betrayed the very people they are charged with protecting. Suppressed research, legal battles, government hearings, political corruption and corporate greed are part of this saga. Yet it is also about healing, for it contains the promise that those involved will learn greater responsibility. As Dr. Kolb says, "Sometimes we all have to learn the hard way."

Hi Alex, welcome to MWC. Please take the time to introduce yourself on the Welcome board and to read the guidelines for boards you intend posting in. Thanks.

That said, I also can't recall any novels mentioning breast augmentation in any detail.... except my own satirical manuscript, now that I think of it...
