Oh, let me fall
Renounce all that I am
a wretched horse
Born in the body of man

Grazing on the foul fields within
Ambling, half-mad, eternal pastures
Muddied, befouled, beneath falling astars
Devouring: the glutton, ghastly thin

For, now I see the poverty which is: I am
It is but a horse, wrongly born, in the body of man.

(Forgive me.)

strictly speaking a horse is not a ruminant but I don't suppose a cow would be the same---perhaps an elk.

I'm joking of course. Interesting poem about wrongful birth and poignant language and imagery.
