How to promote
« on: May 16, 2018, 11:11:16 AM »
I've been self-publishing my work for many years but have had little success generating sales. Another self-published author suggested I create a website to help promote my work. I have thought about this for a while and except for listing my books, can't think of anything I can do to with it to generate sales. I would appreciate any suggestions. If you'd like to take a look at the site it is - kenteicherbooks.com.

Thanks in advance for any offered help.

Since I have several blogs and have been blogging for several years now,
I do think that I can give you some ideas about what you could do to
promote your work.

Not only promoting your work, also possibly actually building a Fan-base
for your work. That's the thing with Blogging when you create a
web-log (blog), you basically have something like an online diary
that is easy to update and place new (blog) posts on.

Those blog posts are (keyword rich) content that will help to
attract organic traffic to your blog because people will
find you because of the keywords you use.

O.K. now for what the promoting of your work is concerned,
there are a lot of things you can think about to promote your
writing. Besides writing blog posts about your upcomming writing,
your writing proces, or sharing samples of your writing
and things like that, by sharing samples you can start to
make a connection with your future audience/fan-base!

Possibly even asking readers what they think about
certain story-lines and things like that, to actually
get them involved, while you are in the process
of creating a new story, as you go!

You could also for example also make,

a Book Trailer, somewhat like a 'Film Trailer' making a
- Photo Slide show - with images that are related to your
writing, with some little text fragments, and info about
your story.

You can put such a 'Book Trailer' on for example
on YouTube that has lots of daily visitors, and also
- embed - your own Book Trailer
on your own blog!

You can also create a Twitter account and write short

messages on your Twitter to announce what content you
write about on your blog, and get people become your Twitter follower.

on Twitter you can create Hashtags (#...) that people use to find you
with their searches, you can have a look on my Writing Blog to
find my Twitter page, and become a follower yourself,
to keep up-to-date about what I write about on my blog(s)! ;)

Hope that this has given you
a few ideas…?
