She taught us all a little bit mate, regardless of the fact we never met in person

My deepest condolences to you and your family.
I have had to stand in similar places, but can only imagine the place you stand in today.
My hope is that you find comfort in the memories.

My hope is that you find comfort in the memories.

We are and will continue to do so.

Every single person we've told so far has, after the usual quiet bit, said either "Do you remember when...?" or "The thing I remember most..."  They all have a 'Mum Story'.  In ninety-two years you get to touch a lot of people's lives.

I lost my mom also, so know it takes time for the full brunt of missing them, to hit home.

My best wishes to you, Gyppo, and your family and friends.

It's weird not visiting the nursing home.  We've accepted the reality, but  three evenings a week the habit of the last eighteen months or so flags up a little subconscious prompt at around 3 PM.  'Time to wind up whatever you're doing and start getting ready to catch the bus'.

In the past I've warned other people in similar situations that this will happen to them, that it's perfectly normal, but it's weird to be living through it.

But...  "This too will pass."

Gyppo,

I am so sorry for your loss. I cried as I read your post because I know how close you were. And I always enjoyed reading your stories that included her. She was a "tough old bird" in WordBird terms.

It is comforting knowing little Alma was there for one of the last visits. I hope she will grow up with fond memories.
