He's turned into a seriously good-looking dog.  You can be proud of him.

He's so gentle with children :D

He's getting calmer around big dogs ;)

I always feel dogs are like wine - they get better as they get older.  Puppies are cute, but for a good companion and conversationalist, you can't beat a grown-up.  I never take on young dogs, for choice - I like them best from about three or four upwards.  Sally, my current bitch, is eleven.  Jacob got to 16, and Bob was a minimum of 19 and could have been older.

I used to take on older dogs, but found they came with some issues, some serious. My daughter has just done that and her dog is not quite 'all there' in terms of savvy.  No-one ever took the trouble to play with him as a puppy. I was glad that I got Dylan as a puppy.  He was eight weeks old and after showing him how to be house trained over a four day period, he was wonderful and has been the model member of our family ever since.

Lovely pics of the dog and the flowers, Frank.  It has been such a greattime of the year to enjoy the flora and fauna.  Is your dog a Jack Russell?  Mine is.  Unusually he is brown all over and people don't believe me when I say he is a JR.  They come in all colours, shapes and sizes.  It's the head and those mischievous eyes that say it all.

Good gracious yes - my border collie is 16months and I am sure she's given me more grey hairs than my two kids put together! I guess I had selective amnesia from when the dog we had when I was a teenager (Cavalier King Charles spaniel that we also got as a pup) came home. Different story when it is now me being the responsible adult doing all the care and training too. Lucky she's cute!

Can't believe Pigs is 6 already too, Frank!  :o

What a gorgeous boy, and he looks like he's being such a good boy too. My nearly 16 year old Golden Retriever has given up his lifelong 'good boy' attitude and pretty much does what he wants. I figure he's earned it!
