Flash Fiction #128
« on: June 10, 2017, 11:17:29 AM »
Here's the latest flash fiction challenge:

I've written eulogies for my parents, my mother-in-law, father-in-law (one I unfortunately had to deliver), my wife, and one for myself...in case she can't think of anything nice to say about me.
So your challenge is to write your own eulogy.
Honesty, especially when mentioning your 'loved ones', should produce some interesting reading  ;D

500 words max.
Due by the end of June.
Send them to me via PM.

That's nearly three weeks! There were only two entries last time  >:(
I expect at least ten!

Will a mod please sticky this  :-*

I would love to enter this challenge, as well as the poetry one, but to be honest, participation has become so poor it is no longer fun. Who wants to win because they are the only entry? I suggest that if MWC members don't start participating in the challenges, they be discontinued. It is very hard on the host to corral entries. IMHO.

I'm not giving up hope just yet  :)
There's still two weeks left.
But I hear what you're saying; I won a recent poetry challenge because I was the only entrant ::)

To keep entries anonymous, do we use a fictitious name while still using RL factoids to "honor" the dearly departed?

I believe it'll be more fun (for the entrants and the readers) if we know who the entrants are.
And I trust the integrity of the voters to vote on merit. (Don't say it  ;D )

A big thank you to blhuie for entering the contest. Unfortunately it was the only entry!
You have won blhuie...the question now is whether you want to bother to hold another one?
