Honest thoughts about writing for
« on: November 30, 2016, 02:46:20 PM »
I am a full time media management student in college but I also work a full time job. I wanted to get my feet wet in actually producing content online in my spare time (because it seems like no one will hire a college freshman for their media company it seems). My brother sent me an article today about this company that lets people submit stuff that they write and depending on what the content is about they will post it on one of their sites and then you earn money for how many times it is read.

I really just want to know any fellow writers or online media creators thoughts on it and if it seems legitimate. The website is and then the article my brother sent me is

I'm not looking to make money, I just want a platform for people to engage with my work. I'm looking for any thoughts, opinions or even better- anyone who has written for them before.

Thank you!

Hi, just saw this; yes it is a legit platform, I was writing freelance for OMNI and Geeks before their parent company, Jerrick Media, switched to the Vocal submission platform.
I still do a few articles, for those sites and their new ones, but they no longer pay per article...only per views. So because of that, I don't write a lot with them, because most of my posts don't get a lot of views... but I did get over 40,000 views on one old post, and so that gave me a little monetary boost.

If you want to read more, I did an article about writing for them, on my own blog:
