Bit strange to me to have a short story of approx 3k words be released as a book but apparently many indie press are doing that now. Odd to approve cover art, write an ack and blurb for a short story. Haha.

Funny thing...I just read a non-fiction book titled Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander.

May I be cheeky and ask you and anyone else posting reviews on Amazon to copy them to both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk (or au / ca if the author resides there). Amazon used to automatically copy reviews to each nation's site but don't any more.

Just logged on to find someone on a scifi group picking up not the metaphysical nuances of Chaos but a phrase: nipples so long you could use them to knit with.

Years ago while researching for the SF book Exit, Pursued by a Bee on Mallorca, I walked across a beach at Santa Ponsa. I saw a woman and really her nipples were the longest I've seen. Hence the phrase 'nipples so long you could use them to knit with'. I've been waiting 8 years for a story to use that phrase and thus it came up.
I know it says more about me but hey ho... us writers eh?

Your observation got me googling (not goggling, gutter-mind  ) and I came across this piece of important research: there are eight different kinds of nipples, says Dr. Tsippora Shainhouse, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician and dermatologist in Beverly Hills, CA, and a clinical instructor at the University of Southern California. All of them are normal, and it's certainly possible to have a combination of two or more types (like protruding and bumpy or flat and hairy, for example).

So,...knitting needles, huh? My recollection of a similar metaphor often used in early teenage "locker room talk": nipples like pencil erasers. (No. 2 lead, of course).

AQ your review is still not showing on the UK Amazon for Chaos of Mokii. Don't know what Amazon are playing at.

I would be really grateful, MWC peeps if someone from the UK would tinker with 99 pence and drop a review for it on Amazon over here. Just to see what happens. I'll owe you a pint then, which is worth more, or at least costs more!

Great. Let's hope your fine review stays on both Amazons. A friend tells me that sometimes Amazon only lets us put it on one of them. Grrr

A year ago I received the following response from Amazon when I inquired about review appearance on US vs. other Amazon sites. I wonder if they have done anything about the inconsistent cross-linking of reviews in the past year.

Currently, there is no option in Author Central to share/ link these reviews on Amazon.com, as our international websites operate independently. Our Customer Reviews feature doesn't link reviews across Amazon.com and the International Amazon sites.

We're always looking for ways to make our service more useful to authors. I've passed your message to the Author Central development team for consideration. We rely on author input as we make future plans for Author Central.

However, if two or fewer reviews exist for an item on Amazon.co.uk, additional reviews for the same item may be shared from Amazon.com. Reviews that are shared from Amazon.com are marked as "Most Helpful Customer Reviews on Amazon U.S." Your Amazon.com reviews will appear on all our International websites.
 
But reviews from International websites do not appear on Amazon.com.

I wonder if they'd remove reviews from .com that are written by a reader and posted on .co.uk but are a few words different and have a different heading?

I've just checked and all the reviews I've posted on the UK Amazon and which I pasted into the US Amazon are still there.

Did you ever post via Goodreads? Maybe that's why my Amazon.com posted review didn't stick? If you think it will help, I will try posting it again directly on Amazon.com.

Just been checking my own reviews. I often post reviews on Goodread but always post them separately on the different Amazons. I checked over 20 reviews and they are still there at both Amazons. Sometimes I post them on the Australian and Canadian Amazons too.
