In what is perhaps an unprecedented occurrence in MWC history, there were no entries in the reboot of Short Story Contest #40. There were a couple of nibbles, but the hook was not set and they got away.

So, I am offering a re-reboot with different and, I daresay, more flexible requirements.

Write a story no longer than 600 words on ANY SUBJECT. It can be fiction or nonfiction, essay, rant, whatever you like. As long as it is short and PM'ed to me by August 15 at 1600 GMT, you are in and qualified to win the accolades of your fellow writers.

Only about 210 hours left to get in on this wide open contest ... you can ease into it by writing three or four words an hour. If it were me, I would write something on the soothing subjects of politics or religion, but I can't enter my own contest.

And I'm still rather new to this site so for my sake. Basically, rules are anything goes as long as it's under 600 words? and also entries directly messaged to you?

That's right, jking - any subject, sent to me by PM. And I am sure the ethics would allow me to enter, since it will be a blind vote, I won't because I will be the one stripping the names from the entires and posting them for the vote. Who is to say I wouldn't alter them to make them worse than mine? Hahahahah.

There are 80 - count them - 80 hours left to get in on this Short Story Contest. You won't soon find a broader subject allowance than "ANYTHING" ...
