1. Waukenabo
2.  Zero Sum
3.  Waiting to Be Reborn
4.  Sharp in black and white

Sharp in black and white

Her obsidian hair straight on her back.
Neon lines which only she can see
complete shapes on his chest and thighs.
She stands forward in white sheer,
up and plump, he sees nothing else.

They stand at microphones.
She looks off stage and laughs,
he looks at the audience and growls.
The music comes next

I really like this one...very sexy at the end too with the growl and then the music.

To You

I don’t know the hue of your skin,
the texture of your hair,
if you’re dressed to the nines
or sitting there naked.
I don’t know if your voice is gravely
and gruff, high-pitched and nasal;
if you’re drinking wine while you work
or multitasking like crazy. I don’t always
even know your gender.

But I know how you turn a phrase
and what matters to you most.
I know who posts on your thread
and what they’re thinking. I even know
your ghosts, some by name.
I know who likes to rhyme and who doesn’t,
who likes formal verse, and who, the more
sublime—yes, I’m speaking of you,
my fellow online poets. Cheers!

This is nice :)

it snowed today
and buried my muse
there is a shovel
it's outside leaning against the wooden fence
probably thinking its shift was over for the season
to be honest, I don't have the heart to dig it out
so instead I'll wait
like my muse
under the snow

Giclee

She rides a red horse bareback,
bridleless under a white waxing moon
against a starless night sky.
A strap of her orange gown
slips off her thin shoulder
as her mount rears and snorts, lunging
into a lope. She keeps her seat,
steady and serious. She knows
where they must ride – toward the lilies
that never die, are forever out of reach.

An ekphrastic poem! Well done Kate.

I love "lilies that never die" :)

Posting the picture enhances appreciation for the poem, but does limit the range of wandering for a dirty mind (hypothetically, of course ;D).

Thanks Tom.

I hadn't seen the "dirty" aspect until you pointed it out.  ;)

#6    Changes

Like a trout you sprung from me
Tiny and slippery
You crawled on my belly
When the nurse gently
Put you down on me
You crawled up to my breast
And you started to suck
Pulling hard and eagerly.

My little baby boy,
I held you on my hand
You were so small.

And now you're so tall
I have to tiptoe
To kiss you goodbye.
Your legs and feet and arms
Are everywhere,
Too big for your brain,
And you bang and bump into everything
And all your moves are slow.

Your voice so deep and bass
I don't recognize anymore
But still I see you as a little boy.

Holy Hannah, we are six days in already!

We should have a campfire tonight.
