Have you entered any of our challenges for poetry or prose since you've been a member? If not, why?

Entering your work is a great way to put a big toe in the water and learn how comfortable it can be. After all, you're not asking for critiques or comments, unless you win, no one need know the work entered is yours unless you wish them to once voting is over. Then you can even post it on review if you decide to work and improve it.

I'll admit, I started this post to urge you, (Yes, you) to enter the Short Story Challenge. I have some good entries, but would love to see more.

It's all about writing after all.   

[Simple Things]

For me it is a matter of site participation. An active site brings in new members. Plus it is a great way to spread my writing wings and flash out something without the weight of publication hovering over looking for reasons to smash it letter from letter.

As for how long. Only the challenge providers know.

The deadline for the current Flash Fiction Challenge is April 8th, so you still have plenty of time to write and send me your entry.

If you don't win, no one will ever know you write it unless you choose to share. So if you're worries about not doing it well enough, this is a great way to test it out.    Who knows, you might surprise yourself. At the very least, it would be good practice.
