Hi Sally,

Thanks for posting the link. I can see you have experience with short stories and wondered if you know if people ever self-publish a collection of them, say e-publishing? Is it a popular choice or is it mostly novels in your view?

Thanks,
A

Hi Nellievg,

Lots of people self-publish collections of their stories on Kindle. I have published two collections, one of stories that have previously appeared in UK women's magazines and one of stories that have done well in competitions.
If you're interested in doing something similar there's plenty of info. around on Kindle publishing.
Now this sounds like it's turning into a sales pitch, so I apologise in advance! But if you look at my Amazon author page, http://geni.us/3po4, you'll see I've also written Kindle Direct Publishing for Absolute Beginners, which should get you started on the road to publication.

Best of luck!

Hi sallyj,
Maybe not the right post to ask this but since you already turned the the debate int this direction a little...
I see you have published some collections and short stories on Kindle. How do you promote them and get them to readers, how do you get them to discover your writing?

Hi Booklly - promotion is really difficult!
I have a blog/website www.sally-jenkins.com which I utilise and FB and Twitter. Also, I tell everyone I know in real life. But it's not easy. Haven't yet done any paid advertising.

Sally, don't forget you can place a link in the sig. line, as well as other links pertaining to writing in your profile. Every little bit helps.  ;)
