Injustice

Pooh
was that you?
She’s looking at me.
She thinks it could be.
Her attitude clear.
The very idea!
The cheek that girl’s got.
No it was not.

Culprits abound
just milling around,
any one it could be
but she looks at me.

It might be that jerk
with the Cheshire cat smirk
or that sad looking case
with the Special Brew face
or that doddery guy
just shuffling by -
he just needs to cough
and I bet one goes off.

Why just assume
that I poisoned the room?
Few could have seen a
more blameless demeanour.
Name one example
of a similar sample.

Reply comes there none,
she could not think of one.

Then another foul waft
is transported aloft.
I gaze through the crowd for some grimace or strain
betraying a launch that they could not constrain.
This was no minor slip
but a gut busting rip.

There do you see?
Nothing from me.
Do I look as if I
have just blithely let fly?

But she’s just like So?
And how would I know?
And I, matter-of-factly,
say My Point Exactly,
yet one deadly zinger
and you point the finger
as if I have form,
as if that’s the norm.

I leave off the feuding
and lapse into brooding.

The solution is plain
I shall launch a campaign
to clear my name,
absolve me from blame.
And whilst in the mood
I shall also include
all the abused
and unjustly accused
who languish in cells
in their own private hells -
for the world sadly teems
with unpleasant regimes

For if they didn’t do
what folks said they did too
then they’re also I bet
a wee bit upset
and glad, I’d have thought,
of my loyal support.

We’ll all stand together,
our trials we’ll weather
for even though
I’m free to come and go,
I can stay out ‘til last orders,
and there’s no sadistic warders,
and I don’t have
a steel communal lav,
I know how they feel,
we share an ordeal.

The campaign has started
and it won’t be half-hearted
And together we’ll bust this
cruel injustice.

‘Cos that’s what you do
when someone says pooh
and you know it wasn’t you.

It absolutely was not. And I will not have my good name dragged through the mud, that's all.

As always - so far - an entertaining piece from Dylan.

I say it was the girl wot dun it.

Many cast blame
to hide their own shame
by leading the witch-hunt
the  treacherous ****.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

A funny look at a serious topic.

Would Kafka laugh?
