Hi Folk, I am not sure what the correct forum is to post this on, so do forgive me please if I have goofed!

I have been surfing the web a lot lately and I have found a writer's competition on a  website by I Publish Press.

I thought there might be other people on this site interested in knowing about this comp?

I went back to check on the details of this competition and saw that the I Publish people have added a FAQ section to their website that gives a few background details of the competition and their company - which I was gald to see as I had a few lurking 'questions' so reading the FAQ's has helped answer them  :-)

15 dollar entry fee and all they accept are book sized entries. I don't like the fact that there's no monetary prize or publishing contract. The prizes that they do list you get with any publisher anyway. This looks like a case of give them your book and they'll pat you on the head.

I wouldn't do it.

I don't like the fact there's no non fiction either, but then what's new - these competitions never seem to include it.

Went and did a little more research on them. They're a POD and in competition with Iuniverse as well as others. I'm not sure what their reason for the competition is, unless they're just trying to generate some publicity for their company. Since they don't pay an advance to anyone that publishes with them like the traditional houses do, it sure wouldn't hurt them to offer a monetary prize as well as putting the book in print.
