I have so many ideas right now. I don't know what to do with them.

Do you want some real advice, Noiz?  If you have a mental log-jam caused by too many ideas, which is just as crippling as having no ideas, then try this.

Reduce each idea to a sentence or a few key words.  Make a list.  Cut it into strips, one idea per strip.  Fold them up so they can't be read.  Stir them around in a bowl or something similar and pick one at random.

Before you even unfold it put the others in a jar and screw the lid shut.

You do not open it again until you have thoroughly explored the random choice.

Then work on that one idea, until it either flourishes or it becomes obvious it's a dead-end.

That jar full of 'ideas in waiting' can be a godsend if you hit a spell when your imagination dries up.

Oh, yes...  If, whilst reducing the log jam to single line keys, one of them suddenly tales life and refuses to be compressed then that's the one to work on.  But the emphasis is on the word work, relying on inspiration can be a risky business.

This works for both fiction and non-fiction.

My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

Gyppo, please send this to me in a PM or post it in another realm. I love it! Extremely useful for us A.D.D. types.

You too as well as ThatOllie and anyone else from the old gang. Newcomers too. Love the newbies but my old friends hold a special place in my heart.
