Popped into the gym / pool after a long cycle ride today. Accidentally knocked over a beaker of water into my cycling shoe. Sock was in the shoe. Oh how I laughed. Took ages to use paper towels and a hair dryer to dry them out. Nice and warm :)

Long day - and it hasn't even ended yet. I need a drink.
A martini sounds good to me.

This feels like a Sims day today.

I only drink Martinis when on holiday, especially in the Med. It just feels wrong now to drink it at other times and places. My fault. I shouldn't fall into bad habits.

I started drinking wine (most likely Chianti) when I was still very young. Our Italian neighbours used to just give me (and my sisters) a glass of it at the dinner table. My sisters never cared much for it until they were much older, but I have loved it for as long as I can remember.

On birthdays, and when money wasn't as tight anymore on Sundays too, my Dad used to drink a Martini in the late afternoon and/or in the evening. He still usually has a few bottles of Martini in store (Martini Rosso only). I prefer stronger stuff - Jack Daniels is nice - but my bank account likes the Martini better, so Martini it is. Just every once in a while, but here on the forum I can indulge.

But right now, all I want is a tea. And maybe a heart attack on a plate. It's well past eleven and I haven't had breakfast yet.

I'm kinda freaking out because I haven't finished my Christmas shopping. I have no idea what to give my mum. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I had no time for christmas shopping, so I just bought all children a bar of chocolate, and all adults a box of chocolates. Mum and Dad get a bottle of wine too. All bought today when I was grocery shopping anyway. It'll have to do.

My shopping is done. Same with the gift wrapping. All that is left is to bake the cookies and make the fudge.

Wife and I have bought each other our gym /pool memberships for Christmas for the last 25 years. It started when we paid £600 for son's school ski trip. We never refused to pay for such things but realised that the cost of his one week in Austria = a year each for us at the gym. Of course we still get smaller stocking-filler gifts too.

That must be one hell of a gym. Mine is £96 a year.

Wow, that's cheap. Can you enrol me in?

I prefer to run. It's free.

Not bad.  Not bad at all.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1
