Last day of work before my Christmas break. Save me a seat here for later  ;)

Reckon folk will be busy doing last minute touches . . . I'm off shopping or in the kitchen or doing something groovy -- maybe. ;D

I'd prefer something groovy, but I'm off for the last minute stuff  :-\

Edit: I'm back. It's crazy out there. Lock the doors and draw the curtains, Bones. And pour me a whole lot of something.

Merry Christmas, MWC. It's still Christmas Eve morning for me, but I know Santa is en route to my friends on the other side of the world.

There's nothing better than going into a bar you used to frequent and seeing some of the same old faces still propping up the bar. Merry Christmas all, the next round is on me!

Carrie!  I do believe we still have your personal brandy barrel and Velcro glove so you won't lose your grip on the spigot.  You know how Bones never likes to throw anything out.

"Pot of tea, if you would Bones."

I'm tempted by the pyramid of alcoholic beverages so enticingly balanced on the bar, but I s'pose I should wait till after my appointment, even if it is the only day of the year when booze for breakfast is acceptable.

I'm starting up the fire, anyone who fancies crumpets, do grab a toasting fork.

Hope everyone is having a nice day, however you're choosing to spend it.

An appointment on Christmas Day?

Anyway...  Have a great day, M'Dear.  I dare say the rabble will wander in and out at various times.

The crumpets sound an excellent idea.  I'll be back in a while.

Did your new keyboard arrive in time, or are you still tapping out one letter at a time?

How about this one for your busking repertoire?

And here's my Christmas joke.

A young Gypsy girl goes into the bank and asks if she can borrow £200.

"What's it for?"  asks the manager.

"To buy leather and tools, so I can make craft items and then flog them to people in The City."

"What have you got as collateral?"

    "What's collateral?"

"It's some sort of possession, such as a house or car.  Something we can sell to get our money back if you can't repay the loan."

"I haven't got a house.  Or a car.  All I've got is an old horse and a small trailer."

The bank manager decides to let her have the loan anyway, and a month later, having traded very successfully, she comes back in, peels a few notes from a thick roll and pays off her debt.

The manager thanks her and asks what she's planning to do with the rest of the money.

"I'll hide it away in my trailer. "

"That doesn't sound very safe.  You could always put it in my bank."

She gives him a sharp look and says. . .

"What have you got as collateral?"

Indeed, they like to keep an eye on the crazy ones at this time of year... ::)

Thanks, I'm quite content in my little bubble today. Hope you and all the family have a jolly day, with a healthy dose of madness.

It did finally arrive and I feel like I'm whole again. As much as I love my typewriter, computers are so much more convenient for editing and the like... I've yet to get all the tipp-ex off my fingers.

Definitely one to learn, puts me in mind of Homeward Bound.

This is one of my favourite Christmas songs, hilarious and sentimental; always a good combination.
