Love Triangles

Traditionally these mean trouble,
two lovers and a spare
has to be a recipe for disaster.

But let us look at this,
there are, after all,
three kinds of triangle.

Isosceles:  Probably the safest,
the two true lovers closest,
and the third way out on the long arms.
The kind who worships from afar,
and is usually happy to do so
unless the main two fall out.
An opportunist, but with principles.

Equilateral: Unnaturally cosy
and far too close to call.
Sometimes each of the trio
loves both of the others,
and they chop and change
in a knowing menage au trois.
Sometimes all three get together.

Scalene:  The wildest of them all.
Divided by three different distances,
three different angles on life.
Bound only by their differences,
the attraction of three opposites
in an unbalanced stasis,
ready to burst apart at any time.

Add one more and you have a rhomboid,
and that's seriously kinky.

I enjoyed this Gyppo!
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

It was one of those daft little 'trains of thought' which refused to be derailed.  Someone else on the circle mentioned triangles and the thoughts kept dancing around for a few hours, until I gave in and silenced them by trapping them in words.
