National Novel Writing Month 2014
« on: September 17, 2014, 11:43:14 AM »
Autumn has come again and that is a wonderful thing. Tis writing season once again. People are starting to get ready for another November of Novel Writing Glory with Nanowrimo 2014. So, who's playing this year? This topic (a yearly thing, for those that don't know) is a place to chat about this year's Nano. If you have any questions, we have nano veterans (psst, this is like my eighth go at this thing).

Sign ups on the site start in October, but a declaration of your intention to compete is always welcome.

Here's the link . . .

I might do it this year if I'm allowed to cheat a little.  ;)

I already started a first draft of my next book. By November, I'll probably need the motivation to finish the last 50,000 words, usually about half of the whole.

How flexible is Nanowrimo on stuff like that?

OK, looks like I can cheat.  ;D

I think I've made two attempts in Novembers past, but haven't given it a go for a few years.

This year shall be the year of the great attempt, so it's a good thing you've started the thread now as there are notebooks to be bought, pens to be clicked repeatedly and middle distances to stare into in order to obtain a plot.

The far distance is better to find ideas.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

They're actually very accommodating to their rebels, they've even given them their own sub-forum.

I'm very tempted but I've still got last year's manuscript to finish editing. So my time may be better spent on that this year.
But good luck to every one going for the 50k!

Such a hopeful message of hope, I'm sure it's doomed. There's still six weeks for the sickness to grab a'hold of you and thrust a seemingly perfect idea right at you. That's how they get ya.

I entered a few times in the past, but I've sat out the last few years. I'm willing to give it another go. Will this thread stay active throughout November for peeps to post their progress?

That's how it's worked in the past, Bailish.

I'm sitting this one out. I'm in editing mode.

Good luck to all to take part  :-*

The thread will stay active as long as people use it.

I've told myself I'm staying out this year, but my little Muse might decide to test my resolve.  It wouldn't be the first time ;-)

But you can put me down for the cheering-on and arse-kicking section at least.
