Poetry Challenge 98
« on: July 12, 2014, 08:51:42 AM »
I know many people may be away on holidays etc, so i'll make this challenge easy.

Any form, Any subject, any theme you want. No more than 40 lines just for brevity.

Deadline to finish and pm to me is midnight 19th July. That's a whole week guys so no excuses.

Siobhan will get hers in by midnight tonight so that'll be one entry.  :)

She must be losing her grip ;-)  Or her pen.  Or keyboard.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

Blame it on the thudding of the lambegs and I'll believe you.

While at the park today the sounds of the drums could be heard over the lake, followed by pipes and flutes. It was quite surreal and sounded like the remake of Zulu. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  Shaka and the boys battering their assegeis then the British army playing their military pipes. ::)

There was an 'orange' peaceful protest somewhere in your neighbourhood our news told us today Sio.  Maybe that's what you heard?

No -- unfortunately not. Ballymena is the only town in Ireland [outside of Belfast] that has Twelfth Day parades every year . . . which of course means all the practice marches and mini parades too. ::) As they say, familiarity breeds contempt -- see them so often they're not special and no big deal. Markethill today had it's first parade for 14 years, huge turnout. (Lucky bastards)

The theme "any" seems to have many followers.

Sometimes the call for a more restrictive format gets the grey cells working really well.  Other times it freezes them, or the would be poet thinks "I need more time to think about this" and then forgets.

Open challenges tend to attract a more instant response, either with something totally new and off the cuff, (and possibly off the wall as well,) or the "I'll finish that one I started a while back" response.
