My Garage
« on: May 11, 2014, 09:15:36 AM »
Thanks for stopping in, and welcome to My Garage.  ;D ;D ;D

Iím hosting this informal get-together in support of the MWC Poetry Anthology.   (I talked to Bones over at the Red Barren and got some pointers on hosting).   This is an informal beer and pretzels reception for the book and MWC supporters who want to help.

Thereís a keg of beer over there, by the north wall - help yourself.  (I spent the morning getting the foam out of the line.  Hic. ::) ::))

Sales for the Anthology have been modest lately, and should be doing a little better.

The beneficiary for the Anthology is a brave and beautiful young girl named Addy.  http://mywriterscircle.com/index.php?topic=49325.0   Maybe FireFly will stop by with an update on how sheís doing.

And maybe some of the authors will stop by as well Ė tell us some of their favorite anecdotes, select their favorite poems from the book, or just get drunk and silly. Or drunk and horny.  Or drunk and naked - whatever,  we do need to finish the keg. 8) 8)  And, truth be told, there's probably a bottle of Southern Comfort or Jack floating around too.

You'll see on the table to the left some of the Author's pictures.  Feel free to post more if you'd like. :)

If you havenít seen the Anthology youíll want to take a look.  Itís a collection of some wonderful writing.   And the cause is right as well.  More Anthology info:  http://mywriterscircle.com/index.php?topic=52799.0

There are a few (virtual) door prizes. The first door prize will go to the first person to post the name of the Poem from which the Anthology's title came.  Go. 8)

And thanks for stopping by.  Anything you can do to assist sales is appreciated. 8)

Siobhan swaggers in -- swaggers, not staggers -- As The Kettle Wolf-Whistled in hand.

Hi, Tom. Got a beer? D'you know, when I took this into work one of the girls who isn't really a poetry person asked me to get her a copy [I've still to do it] because she felt so sorry for Addy. She called up the Facebook page and read all about her and wants to make a donation. Isn't that kind?

I found a box of canning jars, here you go.  Geez I thought I'd gotten cups. :-\

So you wonder where Heidi might "park" her horse?  No problem, there's a hitching post by the trough.  What if she brings her chickens?  And don't say "supper". 8)

Where's the real beer, T.? Oh, yeah hi and all.

Marc shoots an envious glare at Sio. Oh she sees me... winning smile... you can do it, winning smile

T. what time time do the strippers arrive? Sio, was that your elbow? I was merely asking, jeez. Has anyone seen my wife? No?  Thank God.

Awesome job T.  :)

Here's a jar of beer, CP, and a little sweetener (pours from the flask).

Your wife couldn't make it?

This is great.

Do we get to be really badly behaved later -- sooner -- and go full Bohemian/hedonistic/don't give a damn freaky?

Right -- first up on the stage, okay, centre of the floor, has to read whatever poem is on . . . . PAGE ***Now somebody has to choose a number*** ;D

No silly accents yet. >:(

nice hitching post! horse says he would like some beer in that trough if you wouldn't mind, see as you got a whole keg.  ::)

don't give him too much, he has to drive

When I told my friend who boards her horse with me, she insisted on going to lulu and purchasing one. She posted it on her facebook page as well. She's always a good kid like that. And then she actually read it! The whole thing! and said she enjoyed it so much she'll buy more poetry books in the future. Shout out to Dotti.

And Tom, you did a spectacular job on the decorations.  ;D ;D

Skull 'em -- down in one! ;D

Need refills now, Tom. Is there a drinks slave or are you on permanent host duty?
