Does anyone know of any currently open competitions for the intellectual teenager who loves writing?

Islandscribe, when you say "for teenagers" do you mean contributors will be restricted to the teen years? Or perhaps subjects/topics that will interest teens?

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Sometimes I can be a bit thick.  :(

I think that I will enter the competition above but any more competitions would be great.

P.S I forgot to remember that the competitions that I enter have to be free.

Try doing a google search of "teenage writer contests" and you might include "free". There are plenty out there, but you have to plow through them to find what interests you.

you might also check out teenink.com. looks like an interesting site for young writers and they do have a section listing contests.

Good luck.
