an alternate look at history synopsis
« on: February 21, 2014, 08:55:34 AM »
In the year 2025 all forms of sports have been abandoned due to the appalling behaviour of the elite and not so elite players. The second coming of Rome has officially begun. To fill the void of sport a new mix of idea/exercise has been invented and performed in newly built open air convention centres all over the world. Eventually these performences will be replaced by gladiator tournaments once Latin and Roman Law have been reinstated. Ceasar wrote a book claiming to be God and inserted a few curses of a horrifying death and after death to keep his ideas and divinity alive. He passed on this book to Octavianus and in it he claimed monotheism must be spread. His spies and his linguists combined to seek out a language that might be changed for the better. The Barbarians have a language that if a vowel shift is introduced it might just be useful in controlling foreign lands but they would need to be displaced a couple of times. The book gets passed town through the emperors and into the Byzantine empire and is lost with the fall of Constantinople. It resurfaces alongside the Rosetta stone and is used by Napolean until it is lost again. THe next time it is found is in a Milan library in 1950 by a teenager. Fast forward to 2001 and Guido Faison comes up with the idea of combining double handling as a health and safety measure

I thought the gallery was for posting anything you wanted. People usually post here because they are not looking for comments.

Just sayin'  ::)

I guess a comment is useful and people can always ignore them if they want to... :)

And I think it's better to save the comments for those who ask and appreciate them. But go ahead and do it your way.  :)

Is this what they call post modernism?

I fail to see why the author would find that comment useful.

If we comment it shows we have read the piece... and the author may be glad to know that;on the other hand they may be taken aback.So each of us will have a different view. :) ;)

I was genuinely wondering if it was postmodernism as I have not understood what that is... and am intetested to know.But after two or three says here,I feel rather upset at my being upbraided so much for doing what i believed we were encouraged to do...  read and comment before posting too much of our own work.Maybe I am told old for this site.

It says that in the rules Alice, but the general consensus here is that we don't offer critiques. So how come the rools have been changed? I've been warned about commenting before, here.

I'm not going to say I agree or disagree with you. I've found that when I try to argue anything with a mod, I come off worst. So am outta here.
