Formatting Bullet Points in Kindle e-books
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:32:45 PM »
Just been battling with bullet points whilst formatting my new non-fiction Kindle e-book.
Eventually discovered via Google that bullet points created in Word aren't supported in the Kindle version and an alternative is to hold down the Alt key and press 7 on the number pad. This gives you the little black dot that indicates a bullet. I then inserted a space before the first word of the bullet for clarity.
I think it looks acceptable now.
I know you can code the bullets using html too, but I think that's a bit beyond me at the moment...

Persevere with the HTML and you might be surprised how straightforward it is. It's not easy, but far from the incomprehensible mess it may appear to be.

If this is something you want to get into, I'd recommend looking at the 'Missing Manual' series published by O'Reilly.
