Hanging on a Swiss Type House
« on: December 15, 2013, 04:31:42 PM »
Hey guys, I have this picture on my computer as a background wallpaper. I've always thought it was a nice serene landscape.

And yet something has always puzzled me about the photo -- between the windows of the upper level, there is a wooden railing with 'things' draped over that rod-beam-whatever.

Can anyone tell me what that 'stuff' might be?

Fly -- That's kinda what I was thinking. When I lived in Germany, we would hang our beer in a net bag and drape it outside to get cold. I wonder if this is sort of the same thing.

Hey Bri -- I like it. (I snagged it from the net I think.)

Ahem. I cannot tell a lie, it's one of mine. It's in Pic-Post. But I must say, I really like Skip's pic. You can almost see Heidi comin out of it, shouting "GrandFather! The bats are still hanging. We have to get them down for the stew!".  ;D

I thought they looked like dipped candles, but couldn't figure out why they would be hung outside.

Didn't think of the candles angle but hanging salamis outside away from the heat of stove or hearth fires kinda makes sense to me.

Without ladders how would you get them down?

A gaff rod from an open window would do if the items are just draped.
