Help Please:-Magazines that accept short stories
« on: September 25, 2006, 11:53:07 AM »
Can anyone help me with the names of any magazines that accept short stories. I am doing a writing course and I need to find some magazines to research the stories they accept. I have been around the local newsagents but most magazines displayed do not accept stories.
Any ideas please.

Hello,

What sort of stories are you thinking about? Literary? Any particular genre?

It might be worth logging in to www.firstwriter.com if you're going to be looking for this kind of thing fairly regularly - or go to the bloomsbury website - that's another that lists magazines. Other sites might be www.espressofiction.com or www.nighttrainmagazine.com - or www.darktales.co.uk for fantasy and spooky stuff.

Hope this helps.

Good luck with your research

HI Symphony, thanks for the reply I will certainly look into these sites. The type of short stories are fiction, crime, life in general and anything really that may trigger a story from the newspaper or t.v. I am interested in most things really but find it difficult to write about romance. I am getting on a bit and probably can't remember much about it (married for 29 years).
