Moving smileys
« on: February 10, 2006, 11:29:01 AM »
 I need to know where you get your moving smileys from Symphony!! I think they are great. The fireworks I have seen are really cool too. If it's too complicated mabey Nick could have some included to the ones we already have. What does anyone else think? I'd love to know your thoughts.(clean ones only please!)  ???

Hi Ann

You can choose from a range of smileys when you compose your message, some of them animated. You'll see a row across the top of the message field. Just click on whichever one you want and it will be inserted. In the compose field all you will see is a 'punctuation' smiley, but when your message is published it will appear as a round yellow version. I've put the main animated ones below:

  :o  ::)  :-*  :'(

I'd guess the fireworks posted elsewhere on the forum are Flash animations. There is a button for inserting these, and another for inserting images. I don't know exactly how these work, so maybe someone more technical than me can explain!

Hi Ann,

I used to absolutely HATE smilies but once I started chatting on forums I discovered they were often very useful - and could sometimes express things without unnecessary words ...

I use www.coolsmileys.net

You can just cut and paste them from there. I can't help with the fireworks and stuff - I'm pretty useless when it comes to findings pictures and changing them etc. etc.

Ok....This is where my blond hair comes into it. Symphony, you say you're new to computers, but not as new as me (obviously!)
Now I've found the website, but how the heck do you copy stuff to send to this site. I can hear everyone laughing!! Come on..I admit, I'm on a very steep learning curve, but still loving it!!

I'm up very early because someone has passed on the dreaded bug that's going around! Still...It doesn't keep me away from the computer screen.

Just off to put the kettle on and have another cup of tea; anyone fancy a malted milk bicky??Mmmm.

   Found out how to do it!!  Had to ask my 12 year old son(how sad am I?)
You should see the smile on my face. There will be no stopping me now!! ::)

Well, looks like nobody is around much today. So will go and have my cup of tea by myself. See you all again soon. Luv Ann.

Yay! Well done. These 12-year-olds can be very useful sometimes. But don't worry - you're not alone. I once had to ask my 5-year-old how to work the video recorder!!!!!
