guys concentrate on the problem

That problem is that you are writing a story with a per-set agenda attached to it--and therefore you have all these expectations that are not being fulfilled. Set this story aside and write the your story. The one that you are dying to write. The one that got you all tied-up, frustrated, and pissed off. Get that out of the way then maybe you can write a story for the story's sake.

'raped day after day but remains firm?' (sorry, but that was so funny)

Mebbee take out 'firm' and put in 'resolute.' B

My point is . . . write it, then edit all the inconsistencies out. Then re-edit it. Talking the subject to death, like you're doing is interesting. But you won't know how it is, till you've written it. IMO. B

Anyway, it could be you're getting too hung up on why your character writes about his past. Everyone who does so has different reasons. I don't think "why" even should be explained. It can too easily come off as talking down to readers. Trust them to come up with their own reasons why. They will.

This is good. How many stories start, or need to start, with, "I'm writing this down because..." The first-person thing is a convention and doesn't need explanation.

A book I am writing is INSPIRED by a true story.  It doesn't have to be the full truth and nothing but the truth.  You can dip in and out of it to make it fictionalised.  The people don't have to be the real people involved in the true version, make them up but perhaps use their clothing style or the way they have their hair cut but nothing personal.  Use the past as inspiration for a novel and change everything but use some of the incidents to make the story sound more authentic.  That's what I've done and I have to say after reading it back, it seems to bring the story to life.
