Writing can be very therapeutic, that could be motivation enough.

Writing can be a catharsis for many people.

artists of most kinds are born out of trauma, so the writing could be because of a bad past rather than about it?

One of the first things one is taught about writing is to Write What You Know.

Never write about your own experiences.

...Write about your friends ;-P

LOL. Which is a considerable draw back when it comes to fiction. :-D

but that depends upon trauma ,my MC was abandoned at birth ,forced to do prostitution.  I am trying to find the reason why he would write about his past because these kind of things you don't write.

I was thinking that he should write the story as if it was of someone else, could it work ?

Nah man, I don't think so it depends how you use your past experience

Yep. Motivation is everything. The story is always about why people do the things they do. Plot is merely what your characters ended-up doing--but when put into the context of what drove them to do those things...now there's a story.

I'm not into 'Mis-Lit', but I don't quite understand the logic behind this statement ^^^. Are you saying it's in bad taste to write about one's abusive past in case it upsets certain readers? How would fictionalising the 'history' make it more palatable?
