cheers Paley. I love these pics. I'm gonna pick one of them out and have it enlarged and given the 'oil effect on canvas' treatment and mount it on the sitting-room wall. Did a count up, I took 2200 pics in a week. Not bad. haha. After deleting out-of-focus ones and ones which are plain old boring, I had 1900 good pics to choose from. Gawd I'm so sad. ha ha B

Thanks Dawn. Are we gonna see more of yours? I loved the one of yours further up that reminded me of The Water-Wheel of Ambleside. B

I put some different ones on, in FB, Dawn. xbx

I'm editing like mad at the minute before I go back to work tomorrow. :'( :'( I will try and put some more on later. Nothing as atmospheric though. I tend to take more portrait ones.

Again from the backyard - this time a dragonfly (female dusky clubtail dragonfly I'm told) paid us a visit yesterday:

I don't know why it is, but fences leading down to lakes always seem so atmospheric to me.

You'll probably like this one then, Bri.:

The photo of the bridge, is that the one over the river leaving Grasmere? If so, you'll probably recognise this spot:

And this one:

Have I posted this one before? At Blelham Tarn, as is the first one.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - open throttle in the other -
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming : "Woo Hoo, what
a ride!"

The fence pic IS nice DC. But it has to be without all the fishing gear, for me anyway. ha ha. LOVE the Tarn pic.

Ds. I love those fly pics. There were a few of them in the Lakes, but as soon as the camera was out, they'd scarper. ha ha. B

Re fence going down into the water pictures.  The ones which trigger a response in me are where the fence is angled into the water, possibly partly covered, as if the lake/river has risen and claimed part of the land.

There used to be a bit of ancient fencing like that at Dozmary Pool, in Cornwall, and on the far side it came back up out of the water again.  Even more striking when there's a low mist.

I never managed to get a decent picture.  But here's a link in which the top picture hints at what I mean.

http://www.westerngazette.co.uk/Legends-Dozmary-Pool/story-19557388-detail/story.html

Strange place, Dozmary.  You sometimes get long ripples on the surface when there's no wind, as if there's something moving under the surface.

If you go out of season and have it to yourself it can be a vary soothing place if you feel troubled.  But...  Having been there both in the early morning and at night there were two occasions when I parked my bike, started to walk down the rough track, and felt that my presence wasn't welcomed.  On both occasions I offered a silent apology for intruding and went quietly away.  It felt the right thing to do.

My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1
