Hi Everyone,

As a moderator on this site I really think that on Writers Circle we should not deal with political issues unless they are directly related to a style of journalism or writing and do not  reflect the personal political views of the writer themselves.

What do you think?

Lin, I agree. A straight debate on politics is outside the scope of this board. However certain some topics such as freedom of speech are appropriate to discuss here because they do affect writers (think Salman Rushdie)

Hi,

I already had this discussion with Nick, when I talked to him earlier today about possibly deleting this posting. He decided to move the topic from the writer's circle to the coffee shop as he felt this was the place for open discussion.

On this board the topic is open to any subject, providing it is not offensive in any way.

I hope this clears things up.

Robert, what I said was tongue and cheek. I do think tho it might help if people like me could read what they was a going to be a signing, soes we could make up our minds to see if we did want to be a signing what we was a trying to read.

That website for that petition was in some kinda foriegn language or something I think, I dont know tho for sure cause I couldnt read that writing.  8)
