Hero?  No.

Adventurer? Yes!
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

I must say I was delighted to hear that Jumbo Kittinger was still alive.  I remember reading about his jump all those years ago and being deeply impressed by his level of lunacy.  A fifty year unbroken run as the holder of any record is quite unusual.

Felix obviously hasn't used up his nine lives yet.

Maybe he should try it with a bungee-rope attached to the balloon next time. Sounds more fun.

It was wild.  When he was spinning around like crazy I was certain he was done for.

Had to chuckle at the end when I realized everything was emblazoned with the Red Bull trademark.

I see the man says he's retired from the daredevil business.

"I want a nice ordinary job as a helicopter pilot.  Fighting fires and rescuing people."

I don't doubt the tumbling spin on the way down shook him up, but whether it was enough to kill the adrenaline beast remains to be seen.

I watched the video and wasn't it good to see Joe Kittinger's delight for the man who had broken his old record.  And rather nice that Joe still has the record for the longest period of freefall, despite Felix having jumped from much higher.  I guess you cover a lot of ground at seven hundred plus before the thicker air of lower altitude slows you a bit.
