No-- getting a grant to do writing. :D

Some of the information seems old, but I do know several are still active.

Ah - like the grant JK won? Sounds lovely.  I have looked into grant writing here in the US and it can be make for a nice income for those so inclined.

That Northern Rock one is a little beauty for someone living in the right area.  And, unusually,it's for established writers, not newcomers.

Annual award established in 2002 with the aim of liberating established writers who live in the region from work other than writing.

£60,000.  £20,000 a year for three years.
