Hello from Central Texas
« on: September 03, 2006, 04:59:10 PM »
I found My Writers Circle a few days ago and have been lurking and reading quite a bit ever since.  Finally couldn't resist any longer and found myself registering so I could give in to temptation so I could join in some of the dicussions.

I've written in one form or another for years, even submitted from time to time. I've received the usual polite form letters thanking me for the submission and at the same time telling me "no thank you." They seem to be one of the "learning curves" we have to go through before received that first "I would like to see more" and "Yes, we want your story" letters/responses. Which makes them all the sweeter.

Fantasy is my usual style of writing but I've also tried my hand in other genres.  I find it helpful to break out of my 'mold' at times and try something different.

When it comes to reading I'm a rather ecelectic type.  I enjoy almost all genres and am a voracious reader.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and feel like being here will be a help to me.

Alice

PS  I am (also) among the 'spelling challenged' and just realized my spell check doesn't work here.  Please forgive any goofs.

Welcome Country4Gal, look forward to reading some of your postings. Been there with the "polite letters" but I always regard the rejection as coming from someone who doesn't know god writing when they read it.  :) Enjoy the site. Oliver
