weird drinks
« on: September 01, 2006, 08:57:36 AM »
i just spend last week with some people from finnland and they drink some weird stuff: one is a drink where they let 'frishermensfriends' desovle into water and wodka, it works like a mouthwash and tastes pretty good.

i just wanted to see if any of you knew of similare weird drinks or food habbits.

yeah, there's this one that involves picking leaves of a bush, drying them out, chopping them up, putting them in little bags and then leaving to soak in hot water before adding bovine lactate. Popular in Britain I believe.

there's another, pretty much universal one, involves roasting and grinding beans, to make a powder that you put in a paper cup and pour hot water through it, except for Britain where they use soil instead of beans.

you humans are too funny :)

From this I'd judge that you haven't been to Britain for about 20 years.  The coffee's pretty good here now.  Much better than in the US at any rate  :P
