April 16-30, Angry Robot Books will be holding it's second annual Open Door in which unagented authors with complete manuscripts can sumbit for possible publication. This year they are after Epic Fantasy and Young Adult Speculative Fiction.  (Young Adult fiction should go to their YA imprint Strange Chemistry).

I believe I'd like to try for this one if I'm finished in time. Have you had dealings with this group?

Nope, but I know a couple of authors who are published by them.

Also, I'm quite sure I saw some of their books in Waterstone's the last time I was there.

This is a very good publisher. Not only is the editor a friend of a friend, but they were also nominated for publisher of the year last year at ThisIsHorror.co.uk. This is also not the first time they've done something like this. Every year they open their doors to another genre. I think last year was Sci-Fi. Not sure.

IIRC, I believe you're right.
